WB-SEC has initiated in 2011 the introduction of the model of tutoring of pupils for preventing early school leaving and decreasing the dropout rate.

This initiative aims at decreasing the dropout rate in Serbian elementary schools while it promotes equal chances for all, solidarity, tolerance and voluntary based community work. For one part it tends to enable the tutoring initiative to become accepted in formal educational system while it also pushes for the institutional recognition of volunteering.

The research shows these initiatives can positively contribute to children's success in school. Improvements can be traced in their knowledge and learning skills and also children's general social skills. In the past period, the model has been presented to key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education and Science and the Parliament. Currently, this initiative is in process of raising the funds for piloting the model in Belgrade. de:work created the identity for the projects, as well as stationery and promo material.
