The concept Disconnect to Connect was structured in three stages, each representing an essential step in the journey toward better sleep.
Step 1 – Disconnect
The installation introduced the importance of the “Road to Sleep” routine, encouraging visitors to slow down and detach from daily distractions before going to bed.
Step 2 – Sleep
The central space focused on atmosphere and calmness—peaceful, minimal, and immersive. A bed placed beneath a star-like ceiling created a quiet environment symbolizing rest and comfort.
Step 3 – Connect
The final stage simulated waking up and reconnecting with the world. LED lighting gradually recreated the effect of sunrise, filling the space with brightness and energy to represent the beginning of a new day.
An additional concept element, His Majesty: Sleep, was also implemented. Inspired by the way iconic objects are presented in art and design, sleep itself was symbolically elevated and celebrated. The central object—a simple IKEA pillow—was displayed on a pedestal like a museum artifact, emphasizing the idea that sleep deserves the same respect and attention as the most valued pieces of design.
